Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF) invests INR 2 Crores towards Sports Development Program under Sports Lab Initiative.
NEW DELHI (India CSR): Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), the CSR arm of Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), has announced the inauguration of a state-of-the-art ‘Sports Lab Fitness Centre’ in Hisar, Haryana. This initiative is part of HMIF’s ongoing commitment to nurturing young athletic talent and promoting health and fitness at the grassroots level.
Key Highlights of the Initiative
On July 30, 2024, HMIF inaugurated the new fitness centre, equipped with modern facilities and staffed by certified trainers. The centre aims to provide young athletes with top-notch training, mentorship, and resources to enhance their performance. This initiative is a significant step in the expansion of HMIF’s flagship Sports Lab project, which has already benefited over 7,500 young athletes from Haryana and Punjab.
Inaugural Event
The inauguration ceremony featured special guest Saina Nehwal, celebrated badminton player and Olympic medallist, alongside chief guest Dr. Rajesh Kumar Mohan, Additional Superintendent of Police (IPS) – Hisar, Haryana. The event also saw the presence of Puneet Anand, Vertical Head – Corporate Communication & Social, HMIL, and other dignitaries.

Puneet Anand expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “With HMIF’s Sports Lab initiative, we envisaged a holistic sports CSR program that will create a legacy beyond just winning medals and accolades. For any athlete, access to right coaching and resources is critical to their growth and success. I am confident that with this initiative, young and talented athletes of Haryana and Punjab will have better opportunities to train and represent India at national and international levels.”
Expansion of the Sports Lab Project
The Sports Lab project, launched in 2022 in collaboration with Roots Foundation, aims to identify and nurture young sports talent through advanced training and mentorship. The project is expanding to Jind, Haryana, and Mansa, Punjab, to create a sustainable ecosystem that promotes athletic growth and excellence. By collaborating with local schools, sports clubs, federations, and government bodies, HMIF is dedicated to building a strong foundation for the future of Indian sports.
This initiative by HMIF underscores their commitment to developing a healthier, more active society and providing young athletes with the tools and support they need to succeed.
